How do I delay the REX button operation on an LNL-2220 or LNL-1320?

How do I delay the REX button operation on an LNL-2220 or LNL-1320?

Procedure Steps

Currently, OnGuard does not provide a delay for this purpose. This is possible, however, by using an auxiliary input controlling an auxiliary output via a function list.
  1. Connect the N/C contacts of the auxiliary relay to the N/O input 2 (Rex Input), then connect the Rex Button to an auxiliary input.
  2. Configure the auxiliary input to Not supervised, normally open, and set the auxiliary relay Output pulse time to the desired delay time.
  3. In Local I/O, create a function list using the Activate reader output option, and select the reader and the relay being used.
  4. Create a device link from the aux input to the relay, change the Alarm action to Pulse, and leave the Secure and Fault set to Do Nothing.

The way this works is that the relay is actually triggering the Rex input in its normal mode. When the Rex button is pressed, the relay (via the input and function list) is activated, releasing the Rex input.

At the end of the pulse time (delay period) the relay resets which activates the Rex input and releases the door. At the end of the strike time, the door relocks and the system returns to normal.
