Question
How do I configure downstream devices not connected to port 2 when I promote my access panel to an LNL-2220 or LNL-3300 in System Administration?
1) Reassign each downstream device that was connected to ports 3, 4, or 5 to port 2 on the LNL-2220, or ports 2 or 3 on the LNL-3300.
2) Address each downstream device such that no device has a duplicate address.
3) Modify the RS-485 communication wiring on each downstream device such that it is physically connected to port 2 on the LNL-2220, ports 2 or 3 on the LNL-3300, or wired in series to such a device on the RS-485 bus.
Answer
When promoting an LNL-500, LNL-1000, or LNL-2000 access panel to an LNL-2220 or LNL-3300, downstream devices must be connected to port 2 (LNL-2220) or ports 2 or 3 (LNL-3300). If you have downstream devices that are connected to ports 3, 4, or 5, perform the following steps:1) Reassign each downstream device that was connected to ports 3, 4, or 5 to port 2 on the LNL-2220, or ports 2 or 3 on the LNL-3300.
