How to set the jumper for reader power on the LNL-2220 and Series 2 LNL-1320
Procedure Steps
When setting Jumper J7 on the LNL-2220 or J2 on the LNL-1320 board, always use "PT" for any system with 12 VDC power supplies.Only use the "12V" setting for systems with 24 VDC power supplies.
This is in accordance with the hardware documentation (Quick Reference Sheet and Hardware Installation Guide).
J7: Reader Power Select
12V: 12 VDC at reader ports
PT: VIN pass through to reader ports
Note: The input power (VIN) must be 20 VDC minimum if the 12 VDC selection is to be used.
The reason that this setting has to be "PT" for the 12V system is that the power is sent through a 24 VDC to 12 VDC voltage regulator when set to "12V." This will send less than 12V to the readers in a 12V system.
