Do Lenel ILS MIFARE Readers read MIFARE Card Serial Number (CSN)?
Answer
Lenel ILS MIFARE readers can read MIFARE CSN in addition to credentials encoded with the Lenel MIFARE Smart Card application.
It should be noted that some readers process MIFARE CSN differently than ILS MIFARE readers, resulting in a different badge ID reported in Alarm Monitoring.
While some readers can be configured to select how MIFARE CSN is read, the ILS MIFARE readers cannot be configured in this way.
When planning to integrate ILS MIFARE locks into existing OnGuard systems, it may be necessary to configure other readers to match the output of ILS MIFARE readers when using CSN. Refer to reader documentation or manufacturer. If this is not possible, you must add a second active badge to cardholders with access to the Lenel ILS MIFARE locks, with a Badge ID matching the CSN reported by ILS locks.
Future versions of OnGuard may have the ability to configure the way MIFARE CSN is read from ILS MIFARE readers.
