How to upgrade the DigiOn24 encoder firmware for inline printers
Procedure Steps
This procedure is for DigiOn24 encoders that are typically located in inline printers.Important: DO NOT use this procedure unless you have been instructed by Lenel Technical Support to do so.
There are two revisions for the Digion24 encoders: Rev 1 and Rev 2.
Rev 1 boards require firmware version 2.80.
Rev 2 boards require firmware version 4.10.
Firmware version 4.10 is available on the Supplemental Materials disc. (Under Credential Center Device Drivers, select Digion Drivers.) Other firmware updates are available from Lenel Technical Support.
To update the firmware, complete the following steps:
1) Exit from OnGuard.
2) Install the DigiOn24 firmware update utility.
3) Recycle power at the printer.
4) Start the DigiOn firmware update utility.
5) In the DigiOn firmware update utility toolbar, select Com Setting to configure the COM port:
- Select the appropriate COM port radio button.
- From the Baudrate drop-down, select the baud rate.
Note: The baud rate must be set to 9600 bps.
- Click [OK].
6) To prepare the encoder for the upgrade, click [Set Programming Mode] to put the encoder into the programming mode. After the device is in the programming mode, power cycle the device.
7) After the printer has started, click [Upgrade Firmware].
8) After the firmware is updated successfully, power cycle the device to start it up in the normal operating mode.
9) Exit from the DigiOn firmware update utility.
10) Start OnGuard, and then attempt to encode.
11) If necessary, uninstall the DigiOn firmware update utility from the customers computer.
