Installing OnGuard on SQL Azure

Installing OnGuard on SQL Azure

Procedure Steps

Installing OnGuard on SQL Azure requires manual configuration changes because:

  • The field for the Database server name during installation expects a "valid hostname" (such as  "DBSERVER0002", but not "tcp:databasename.database.windows.net" which is how the Database server name appears when using SQL Azure).
  • Therefore, the ODBC connection created during the OnGuard installation must be changed manually after the installation completes.
To install OnGuard on SQL Azure successfully:

  1. In Setup Assistant, in the Database Configuration section, provide the valid server details, and uncheck "Windows Authentication connection with database".
  2. Configure the Login Driver with the correct Database server name.

Applies To

OnGuard 7.5 (and above)
