Symptom
During a custom installation of OnGuard, where the Web Application Server is chosen as a component to install, the following error might appear:
"Error 1606. Could not access network location \inetpub\wwwroot."
Resolution
To resolve the issue, follow the steps below.
Important: Search Microsoft.com for steps on how to back up the registry.
- Launch Registry Editor, and navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\InetStp. - Within this registry key, confirm that there is a String value named PathWWWRoot with a value that includes the full path, including drive letter, to the IIS wwwroot directory (for example, C:\inetpub\wwwroot).
