Custom Open Line Active on Door Contact & Rex Inputs

Symptom

If a custom Open Line Event alarm is required from a door contact or REX input, the default Alarm Definitions device list will not display the individual reader inputs.

Resolution

To enable the reader inputs in the device list:

1. Add the following to the acs.ini file:
   • [SystemAdministration]
   • AlarmDefIncludeDCRex=1
2. Restart Comm Server and Reopen System Admin.
3. In System Administration, go to Monitoring > Alarms > Alarm Definitions and do the following:
   1. Add a new definition.
   2. Enter a name for the new definition.
   3. In the Hardware list, you will now see Door Contacts. Select the Door Contact for the reader.
   4. Select Open Line Alarm Active for the event.
   5. Assign it over to the right.
   6. Click [OK]
4. Refresh your alarm configuration, or restart Alarm Monitoring.
5. You should see the custom alarm for the door contact.
