License Server does not start when added as a resource to Microsoft Cluster

Symptom

After adding the LS License Server service as a resource to Microsoft Cluster as described in the documentation (see Article OG Services to Failover Microsoft Cluster standalone), the service no longer starts.

Resolution

When OnGuard services are added as resources to a Microsoft Cluster, the Startup Parameters field for each service is filled in incorrectly. To correct this symptom:
  1. In the Failover Cluster Manager, right-click on each of the OnGuard services and select Properties.
  2. Delete anything found in the Startup Parameters field for each service.
Now when starting LS License Server under the cluster's control, the service will start correctly.

Applies To

OnGuard (All versions)
Windows Server 2008 R2
