How to check COM port settings
Procedure Steps
1) In the Control Panel double-click System. The System Properties window opens.2) Select the Hardware tab and click [Device Manager].
3) In the Device Manager tree, expand Ports (COM & LPT) to display the ports.
4) Right-click on the desired port and select Properties.
5) Select the Port Settings tab and make sure that the settings match the attached device or the recommended system settings. These settings include the baud rate, data bits, parity, and stop bits.
