How to add or replace digital video capture cards
Procedure Steps
For detailed information, refer to the Digital Video Hardware User Guide.1) Delete the recorder in System Administration.
Note: Camera and device links will be lost when the recorder is deleted.
2) Uninstall the recorder firmware.
3) Restart the recorder.
4) On the recorder, delete the Lenel folder (c:\program files\common files) if it still exists.
5) Delete the Lenel Systems folder (c:\program files) if it still exists.
6) In the Device Manager, locate the video capture card.
7) Right-click on the video capture card, and select Uninstall.
8) From the Start menu, select Run.
Important: Modifications to the Windows Registry could cause irreversible damage to the operating system. Always back up the registry before attempting any changes. If there are any concerns on whether or not to make any changes, contact Lenel Technical Support for assistance.
9) Type regedit and click [OK].
10) Locate the Lenel folder and delete it under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE.
11) Locate the Lenel folder and delete it under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE.
12) Shut down the recorder.
13) Install the new video capture cards. If there are cards to be replaced, remove the old cards and install the new cards in the same slots.
Note: All video capture cards must be the same brand and model.
14) Restart the recorder. The Found New Hardware Wizard appears. Take no action. Leave the window open, but do not click on anything in the window.
15) Install the LDVR firmware. The firmware will resolve the Found New Hardware window.
16) After installation, restart the recorder.
17) Add the new recorder in System Administration, download in System Administration. After a few minutes, the new recorder should be functional.
