How do I update the firmware in a DirecDoor or Micro (M5, M2000, or M3000) controller to the latest version?
Answer
If the controller is currently running firmware version R118 or higher, then you can use the CASI Firmware Update Utility to update the firmware to the latest version (R129 or later). The CASI Firmware Update Utility includes all of the required firmware components. You do not need to retrieve firmware files first in order to use this utility. Also, this utility can simultaneously update multiple controllers, and it has a built-in retry procedure to increase the reliability of the update process.
If the controller is currently running a firmware version prior to R118, you must first update to R118 before you can use the CASI Firmware Update Utility. You cannot directly update from a pre-R118 version to the latest version (R129 or later). To update the firmware to R118, follow the process as described in the controller manual or firmware release notes.
